The Prague Christmas markets attract many visitors. As well as the festive atmosphere, there is also plenty of sightseeing and entertainment to enjoy throughout December.

What's Open around Christmas in Prague
01 December-23 December 2012
The Prague Christmas markets are open. Sightseeing tours and tourist attractions operate as normal.
Bars, restaurants and shops are open. There are theatre, opera and concert performances, including some special festive classical music concerts.

24 December 2012
Christmas Eve is the most festive day of Christmas in the Czech Republic. The Prague Christmas markets are open. Morning sightseeing tours operate as normal.

Many tourist attractions close, but as the city itself is the main attraction, the streets and squares are open to stroll around. And there are some small cafés and bars open for light refreshments. Selected restaurants only are open (reservations are highly recommended). Some small shops open, mostly convenience stores.

There are also theatre performances and special festive classical music concerts to enjoy, in the afternoon and early evening.

The Prague Christmas markets are open. Shops, bars, restaurants, theatre, opera, concerts, sightseeing tours and tourist attractions operate as normal.

31 December 2012
The Prague Christmas markets are open. Shops, sightseeing tours and tourist attractions operate with restricted opening hours. Concert venues and theatres put on afternoon and early evening performances. Restaurants, bars, clubs and other nightlife have extended opening hours, and many host special events.
