Life of Children under Emperor Franz Joseph I Date: 01 May 2013 - 09 June 2013 | This small exhibition running at the New Building of the National Museum looks at a child’s life at the end of the Habsburg monarchy. Society's view of childhood was evolving and by the second half of the 19th century the child was no longer considered “a small adult”. There was a rising children’s culture, with an emphasis on games, toys and child minding. Features 19th century photographs, pictures, models and artefacts. For adults and children. | |

How the New World Symphony Conquered the World Date: 01 May 2013 - 23 February 2014 | Antonín Dvorák's Symphony No. 9, Op. 95, “From the New World” is the Czech composer's best known symphony. Dvorák composed it shortly after arriving in New York in 1982, where he was invited to become the Director of the National Conservatory of Music. This small exhibition at the Antonín Dvorák Museum features music scores, pictures and autographs, and reveals the connection between the symphony and ancient American-Indian legends. | |

Prague Food Festival 2013 Date: 24 May 2013 - 26 May 2013 Time: 12:00-22:00 | The Prague Food Festival celebrates the culinary skills of the top restaurant chefs in the Czech Republic. Visitors can sample local and international dishes, there are cookery shows, workshops, and a variety of wines, sparking wines and beers to taste. For families, a children’s area offers child supervision and entertainment, including the opportunity to try some cooking.
