As the main Japanese sushi restaurant in Prague's city centre, Made in Japan is set in an ideal location between
Wenceslas Square and the
Old Town Square.
Made in Japan boasts an extensive menu, featuring sushi, sashimi, noodles, dumplings, tempura, grilled fish, fried meats and much more.
The wine list offers a variety of International wines at very reasonable prices.
Sushi restaurants can sometimes be a little too 21st century. While retaining the clean, simple look, Made in Japan has a warmer, livelier feel to it than many, and will satisfy the most demanding of urban adventurers.
The central ingredients for Japanese cuisine are plucked straight from the ocean, cleaned and served ‘au naturel’ as sashimi or on a small slab of rice as sushi. This allows the unique colour, texture and taste of each item to be appreciated, without interference from herbs or cooking.
As you enter Made in Japan, you will notice the fish is displayed in a long, refrigerated glass cabinet on the bar counter. Guests can either sit at the regular tables, or sit here and watch the chef at work. The sea urchin and flying fish roe sushi are two of the more unusual items on the menu.
A small screen on one side of the restaurant relays beautiful, turquoise images from the depths of the oceans, featuring sea urchins, shrimps, tuna, octopus and squid. The intriguing images add to the dining experience, bringing home the mystical, other-worldly origins of the food.
As sushi restaurants go, this is definitely one to be recommended and makes for an interesting culinary change.

Japanese sushi is ideal food for sharing and is a fun choice for all manner of groups. Advance reservations are essential.
