The Prague Old Town Walking Tour is a good introduction to the historical city centre of Prague. Join us for a guided walk through the cobbled streets of the
Old Town and the
Jewish Quarter.
Our tour begins in the Old Town, where we explore the most important places, learning the history of the buildings and hearing some fascinating tales of the people who lived and worked in them.
We include in our tour the Gothic Tyn Church, picturesque Ungelt, St. Jacob’s Church - where kings’ weddings took place, Carolinum - the oldest University in Central Europe, the Klementinum, the stunning Art Nouveau Municipal House, the Powder Gate and the Estates Theatre, where Mozart performed his famous opera “Don Giovanni” in 1787.
We then move onto the adjoining Jewish Quarter to learn some of the torrid stories associated with this area, which dates back to the 13th century.
Our tour takes us past the synagogues and the Jewish cemetery, which are so important to this part of Prague. These buildings form the best preserved complex of Jewish historical monuments in the whole of Europe.
Prague Experience walking tours are in English and are led by professional, licensed tourist guides.
