The Metro Theatre in Prague combines three-dimensional black theatre tricks of light, colours and shapes with comedy, dance and pantomime.
The current show, Life is Life, takes you on quite a ride. Scenes change quickly from the humorous to the grotesque, and contemporary dance pieces alternate with classical ballet.
Audiences are enthralled by the black light theatre effects, which appear to defy reason and gravity, tied together by talented actors in a non-verbal manner. The characters give an energetic, enthusiastic performance.
The show is interactive. And like a good pantomime, spectators are welcome to take part. In so doing, you may even learn how some of the tricks are performed.
Life is Life is an entertaining show, to leave audiences upbeat and with plenty to discuss.
In black light theatre the story is always recounted visually, with little or no spoken words. This makes the shows ideal for an international audience, of both adults and children (6 years plus).
The Metro Theatre is located 5 minutes walk from Wenceslas Square and 10 minutes from the Old Town Square and Charles Bridge.
