U Fleku Beer Hall, Restaurant & Brewery

U Fleku is a large pub, restaurant and micro-brewery rolled into one. Of all the traditional Czech pubs in Prague, architecturally there is no finer example.

U Fleku is located in an ancient building dating from 1499. This huge, sprawling tavern is a complex of rooms laid out in true European beer hall style.

Each room has its own individual design: the Ancient Czech Hall, Academy Hall, Cabaret Hall, Large Lounge, Travelling-Case, Sausage, Vaclav's Room, and the Hop-garden for a drink or bite to eat outside.

The menu has a typical Czech selection of duck, pork, goulash, sausages and roast chicken, served with for example dumplings or potatoes, and cabbage.

For drinks, U Fleku brews its own beer on the premises. They call it lager, but for visitors expecting a light beer, be aware this is a dark beer - it is good though. Alternatively, there are basic red and white Czech wines, plus spirits and soft drinks.

The service at U Fleku leaves a little to be desired; meals are served fast enough, but the waiters can be a bit grumpy and unsmiling.

However, U Fleku remains popular all year round because it offers an experience of traditional Czech food, beer and entertainment, and some might say, service!

An accordionist plays all day and evening, making his way around the various halls, which adds to the beer hall atmosphere.

If it is a quick drink you are after, just pop in and find a seat, but to eat, advance reservations are recommended both for groups and individuals.

Brewery Museum
U Fleku has a Brewery Museum located in the former malt house. Ancient brewing machines, instruments and drinking vessels are on display.

Brewery Tour (Groups 10+ people)
Sign up for a guided tour of the micro-brewery, which includes beer tasting and a souvenir U Fleku glass. To be eligible for the tour, groups must eat at U Fleku. Brewery Tours are available in English and German. Advance reservations are essential.
Times: Mon-Fri 10:00-16:00. Sat-Sun times on request.
Duration: 50 minutes.
Admission: 160czk per person.

Cabaret Hall (Groups 70+ people)
The Cabaret Hall lays on an evening's entertainment for very large groups. Advance reservations are essential.
Times: Cabaret 20:00-21:45, followed by live music until 23:00.
Admission: 100czk per person.
