Francouzska Restaurant is set inside the stunning
Municipal House. It is known as the most beautiful Art Nouveau restaurant in Europe, which is hard to disagree with.
Francouzska Restaurant (French Restaurant) transports you back in time, to experience early 20th century finesse.
Gold and crystal chandeliers hang majestically from a high ceiling. Tables are dressed with crisp white tablecloths, polished silverware and sparkling glasses. And flowers arranged throughout the restaurant infuse a fresh, airy feel.
Immaculately dressed waiters meanwhile attend competently to their guests.
This most elegant dining establishment has huge windows looking out on to Republic Square, and serves some of the finest international cuisine in the city.
The head chef, Jacques Auffrays, was brought from another Prague favourite, Bellevue Restaurant. He has created a well balanced menu ranging from succulent lamb chops in a crust of chorizo and beef flaps, to scallops, tiger prawns, sea bass and monkfish.
Desserts include a chocolate tower Dubai, an exotic crème brûlée and homemade sorbets. Not forgetting the fine French cheese platter.
A selection of Czech and International wines are on offer to compliment your meal - Francouzska boasts one of the best restaurant wine cellars in the country.
A live pianist completes the atmosphere, playing gently in the background every evening.
Francouzska is an all smoking restaurant, but don't let this deter non-smokers. The ceiling is so high that smoke from other tables normally dissipates before it drifts near you.
Francouzska Restaurant is located just a few minutes walk from both the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square.
Republic Square has been completely restored in recent years. The result is impressive, and this area of the city now draws a great many more visitors than before, particularly to Municipal House and its wonderful array of attractions.
Francouzska is a major beneficiary of this, and rightly so. It presents fine dining in impressive surroundings, and you may find something truly special here.
For a cheaper alternative, Municipal House also has a traditional Czech beer hall restaurant, the Plzenska Restaurant.

A quiet, elegant place, Francouzska Restaurant is suitable for groups of all sizes on both leisure and business trips. Advance reservations are essential.
