Double Trouble is a large historic bar and club in the Old Town, just 2 minutes walk from both
Wenceslas Square and the
Old Town Square.
Double Trouble is the most popular Gothic cellar pub in Prague, and rightfully so. It has been beautifully restored, and is well worth a visit anytime from early evening through to the early hours.
A small entrance at street level leads you down via large wooden stairs to a smart complex of rooms below. These have all been recently restored. You'll find scrubbed stone, illuminated bars, welcoming bar staff and lively music.
DJs play every night, creating a good party atmosphere whenever there is a decent crowd in. The music is MTVDance, Progressive House and the best of 80s-90s oldies.
Drinks are reasonably priced and the atmosphere builds throughout the evening until around midnight, when the real dancing begins. People dance on chairs, they dance on tables, and even on the bar. In fact, that's the norm! This is the Prague nightlife at its best.
Double Trouble is an all round venue, so if you're a big club man forget it. But if you enjoy a local party atmosphere in historic settings, Double Trouble is the place.
