A half day sightseeing excursion to visit a prestigious Bohemian Crystal glassworks.
The Czech Republic produces some of the finest glassware, from beautifully cut vases and fruit bowls to exquisite champagne, wine and spirits glasses. The name Bohemian Crystal is known worldwide.
This sightseeing tour is part by air-conditioned coach, part on foot.
After picking you up from your Prague hotel, we take a 45 minute journey into the Czech countryside to reach the glass factory.
We start with a tour of the workshops, to learn the process of glassmaking by observing the craftsmanship of the glassmakers - admire the great skill of the glasscutters and glassblowers. And if you want to, there may be an opportunity to try out glassblowing for yourself! It is harden (and hotter) than it looks.
On the tour, we also learn the history of glass production, at this glassworks and throughout the Czech Republic.
Finally, you are presented with a small glass gift with our compliments, before we leave you to browse the onsite shop.
The store stocks glassware produced in the factory. There is no pressure to buy, but you will find high quality Bohemian Crystal at the best prices, considerably cheaper than in the shops in Prague and in your home country.
For refreshments, there is a refreshment stall in the grounds of the factory.
Prague Experience sightseeing tours are in English and another language. They are led by professional, licensed tourist guides and use modern, air-conditioned mini-coaches.
If you require a tour in French, German, Italian, Russian or Spanish, please specify on the booking form.
The tour finishes back in Prague, at a convenient point in the city centre, near Wenceslas Square.
Note: You might also wish to consider our excursion to Karlovy Vary, which includes a visit to the Moser glass factory: Karlovy Vary Sightseeing Tour.
