Ungelt Jazz & Blues Club is just off the
Old Town Square. As with other jazz clubs in Prague, Ungelt is a small intimate place located in an exposed-brick cellar. And it is a few flights of stairs down!
An interesting feature of Ungelt is the scaffolding balcony - designed to squeeze as much seating into the small room as possible. The whole area is air-conditioned though, and the room reaches up high, so it is a very pleasant place to while away a few hours.
Drinks are reasonable, considering the prime location. As well as Czech and foreign beers, there is a good choice of cocktails. This includes the rather dangerous-sounding selection of ‘Special Absinth Cocktails.’
As the name suggests, the nightly live music at Ungelt includes both Jazz and Blues - from local and international groups. The crowd are usually a mix of nationalities and ages, making for a good atmosphere every night.
