Tanec Praha (Dance Prague) has been the city's major dance festival since its inception in 1989. Participants come from all over the world, competing for prizes in various categories, including classic, contemporary, jazz and folk, as well as choreography and other performances associated with the art of dance.

Prague Drinks Wine
Prague Drinks Wine

The annual Prague Drinks Wine festival offers visitors the chance to sample wines from more than 70 winemakers hailing from all around Central Europe. Over 400 different wines are available to taste in the historical buildings of the New Town Hall and outside in the courtyard. There is also regional food to sample and a Kids’ corner with professional nannies for families.
Tickets are available for pre-purchase or on the day.

Prague Museum Night

Prague Museum Night is organised by the National Museum, the Prague Public Transit Company, and the Association of Museums and Galleries of the Czech Republic in co-operation with other museums and institutes. Most museums open for free, offering visitors a unique night-time view of their exhibits.

Speedway Grand Prix

The first Czech Republic FIM Speedway Grand Prix was held in Prague on 17 May 1997. It has run annually ever since, making it a popular event at the Marketa Stadium.

Festival of Microbreweries at Prague Castle 2017
Date: 16 June 2017 - 17 June 2017
Time: Fri 14:00-20:00; Sat 12:00-20:00
Price: Adults 450czk (includes unlimited consumption of beer).
The festival celebrates microbreweries, with 66 Czech and Moravian ones presenting their finest brews. It takes place in a large outdoor setting in the grounds of Prague Castle. Admission includes a tasting glass and a brochure.
No need to book, just turn up.
Where: Royal Gardens at the back of Prague Castle.
There are several entrances, the easiest to find is by the Prazsky hrad tram stop.
Travel: Metro station Malostranska (line A). Then take tram 22 up the hill and alight at tram stop Prazsky hrad (Prague Castle).

Mini Beer Festival 2017

Time: Fri 14:00-22:00; Sat 10:00-22:00
Price: Free. To sample beer you need to buy a festival glass jug.
The festival celebrates the country's microbreweries with more than 50 presenting their finest brews. Aside from the beer, taste a range of local gastronomical delicacies and enjoy music from live bands. It takes place on the riverbank.
No need to book, just turn up.

The Prague Proms annual music festival is a series of concerts organised by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. Concerts are held in the stunning Smetana Hall, the main hall at Municipal House. Prague Metronome Festival is the new international festival in the Prague’s city center that offers an impressive mix of big international and Czech acts alike. The first year proved that an open-air festival with big foreign names such as Iggy Pop, Foals and The Kooks is exactly what Prague missed so far. Performances of Sting and Kasabian will bring a refreshing dimension to the festival's urban Czech environment this year.

Prague Opera
Prague Opera, Ballet & Classical Concert listings & tickets

Prague is famous for opera, ballet and classical concerts. Performances take place in magnificent opera houses, stunning concert halls, and in an array of historic churches. Tickets are reasonably priced, so shows often sell out. Advance reservations are therefore highly recommended.

Prague Theatre

Visit a Prague theatre for a typically Czech experience. Black light theatre is a mix of dynamic dance routines, mime artists, animated film, and state-of-the-art visual and sound effects. While marionette theatre features giant puppets. Shows are highly visual, so appeal to adults and children of all ages and nationalities. Advance reservations are highly recommended.
