The National Museum in Prague is celebrating 200 years of its existence. This exhibition marks the occasion with a display of 200 of the most important and interesting artefacts from the museum's collections. Through these items the exhibition tells the story of the National Museum from its foundation to the present day.

The Celts - Exhibition

This exhibition at the New Building of the National Museum explores the world of the Celts in Central Europe in prehistoric times. Archaeological finds have revealed the everyday life of the Celts, including their intricate craftsmanship and religious rituals. The National Museum holds one of the most extensive archaeological collections of Celtic artefacts in Europe.

Czech Repubrick - LEGO Exhibition
Czech Repubrick - LEGO Exhibition

Times: Daily 10:00-20:00
Prices: Adult: 290 CZK. Child (5-15yrs): 210 CZK. Child (0-100cm) free. No need to book, tickets are available on the day.
The Czech Repubrick is a display of Czech monuments built entirely from LEGO. Constructed at Hamleys in Prague, it features St. Vitus Cathedral, Karlstejn Castle and a LEGO roller coaster. 2.5 tons of LEGO bricks were used to create the exhibition.

The Prague Proms annual music festival is a series of concerts organised by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. Concerts are held in the stunning Smetana Hall, the main hall at Municipal House. This exhibition by the National Gallery Prague presents French impressionist art loaned from the Ordrupgaard Museum in Denmark. Visitors can admire works by Monet, Degas, Renoir, Sisley, Pissarro, Delacroix, Courbet, Corot and Daubigny, as well as Post-Impressionism art by Cézanne and Gauguin.

Saints Cyril & Methodius Day - Public Holiday
Dates: 05 July 2019
Public holiday in Prague. Saints Cyril and Methodius were Byzantine Greek brothers born in Thessalonica in the 9th century. They became missionaries of Christianity among the Slavic people, and through their work influenced the cultural development of all Slavs. The day commemorates the creation of the Slavic Glagolitic and Cyrillic alphabets as well as the introduction of literacy and the preaching of the gospels in the Slavonic language.
Prague sightseeing & entertainment operate as normal. Shops have limited opening times.

Jan Hus Day - Public Holiday
Dates: 06 July 2019
Public holiday in Prague. Commemorates the burning at the stake of the religious thinker, church reformer and preacher Jan Hus in 1415. His statue takes pride of place in the Old Town Square.

New Prague Dance Festival

Participants for the festival come from all over the world to compete in categories including classic dance, modern dance, jazz hip hop, folk, Latino dance, choreography, dramatic dance, pedagogy, dance talents, modern talents and costume design.

Prague Folklore Days
Prague Folklore Days

The 14th annual international meeting of folk groups in Prague runs over four days on open air stages at the Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square and Republic Square. Amateur folk groups travel from many countries to present their own style of folklore. On Saturday afternoon there is also a parade through the Old Town.
