On the occasion of this year's scheduled Olympic Games the National Museum has prepared a new exhibition which focuses on the three Tokyo Games – the ones in 1940 that did not take place, the ones that were held in 1964 and the ones that are supposed to take place this summer. Among other things you will find out about the history of sports equipment and you can compare it with the latest models.

This new exhibition at the Historical building of the National Museum will guide you through life and work of the four extraordinary Czech classical music composers: Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, Leoš Janáček, Bohuslav Martinů.

The Kings of the Sun exhibition at the National Museum documents the greatest archaeological discoveries of Czech Egyptologists. Treasures from the 3rd to 1st millennium BC are on display, including a unique royal sculpture of King Raneferef, one of the four pharaohs buried in Abusir, and an extensive collection of statues from the tombs of Princess Sheretnebty and the scribe Nefer.

The Treasures of the Numismatic Collections displays coins and medals from ancient times through to the 20th century. The exhibits, which include a large number of Bohemian coins, come from private collections and the National Museum collections.

The Czech Press Photo exhibition takes place in the historical building of the National Museum for the first time. The 26th edition of the exhibition features 450 photos in total, including the winning photo by photographer Roman Vondrous who captured a man passing through a disinfection gate.

Prague Decadent - Exhibition

Dancing House Gallery presents one of the most controversial exhibitions in Prague. It guides you through decadence and erotic life in Prague in the 20th century. Visitors can find out about the first sex toys made in Czechoslovakia, period underwear or atmosphere of the first brothels during the First Republic.

The iMucha exhibition at Municipal House is a comprehensive collection of posters and other works by Alfons Mucha. The collection is owned by the Czech former world No.1 tennis player Ivan Lendl, and when it was previously displayed it broke the record for the most-visited exhibition of fine arts in the Czech Republic. It returns with a new look, bringing Mucha's works to life with digital technology; models from his posters are shown in motion, visitors can follow the amazing revived storyline of the Slav Epic, and Alfons Mucha himself speaks from a self-portrait.

The 2021 Olympics may be held in Tokyo, but Prague is a good city to watch the live television coverage in. Prague draws fans from around the world, who combine a city break with watching their nation's fortunes on the big screen.
Huge screens erected at the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square show the main events. Alternatively, catch all the action on a large projection screen at one of the city's sports bars.

The Open House Prague project offers the public the opportunity to visit 80 normally inaccessible buildings and premises. Visit the headquarters of companies and go up on the roofs of their buildings, see behind the scenes at railway stations and churches, visit the Mayor’s Residence, and explore the Romanesque cellars of the Stone Bell House. Buildings that participate are free to enter, with volunteers on hand to guide you.

L'Etape Czech Republic by Tour de France

L'Etape Czech Republic by Tour de France is a cycling race for public that enables you to compete in the style of cycling professionals and enjoy a unique atmosphere of the legendary Tour de France. At the same time it is a celebration and festival of cycling sport for all little and grown up fans. There are two racing tracks, one for 130km and the other for 90km. Start and finish is in Prague and the route takes you on enclosed little roads around Krivoklat, Beroun and Czech Karst.

This 5km run is not about speed, but the experience. Participants in the Neon Run will be surrounded by bright lights and neon colour - run through zones of neon lights, pass by illuminated sights, and once you cross the finish line a dance party awaits.

Calling all lovers of ice cream! Visit the festival to taste a variety of ice creams and ice lollies, and other food and drinks. There are also competitions and tastings to join in with. This is the largest festival of its kind in Central Europe.
