St. Mathew's Fair is one of the most popular annual fairs in the Czech Republic, with 120 rides and attractions, including swing carousels, bumper cars and shooting galleries. The fair dates from the 16th century.

One World Film Festival

One World is an annual international human rights film festival. It features thought provoking documentaries, often by lesser known directors and producers. One World film festivals are held around the world, with the Prague festival running annually in March.

The Prague Easter Markets are open daily at the Old Town Square. Wooden huts display traditional handicrafts, such as glassware, embroidered lace, jewellery and hand-painted Easter eggs. Local food and drinks are also available: sausages, hams on spits, pastries, Czech beer and hot mulled wine. Entry is free.

Witches' Night is an ancient folk festival held across the Czech Republic to mark the end of winter and the start of spring. It is a cross between Halloween and May Day, in which an effigy of a witch, said to resemble winter (or perhaps a historical reference to witch-hunting), is burnt on pyres. In Prague, a lantern parade starts around 6pm at the Lesser Town Square, and proceeds to Kampa Park to burn the witch around 7pm.
