On Saturday mornings, a farmers' market is held at Náplavka, Rašínovo nábreží, which is a lively part of the river embankment in Prague. Stalls sell fresh farm produce sourced from proven Czech growers, breeders and producers, as well as flowers, ceramics and natural cosmetics.

The Lesser Town Square Market is primarily a farmer's market, although it does offer other items too. Find food and drink from all over Czechia, including seasonal items - fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats, pastries, and beers, wines and spirits. Hot and cold food and drinks are also available for immediate consumption.

St. Martin's Wine Festival by the River
St. Martin's Wine Festival by the River

Czech folklore tells us that on 11th November, St. Martin rides in on a white horse. He brings with him the first snows of winter. In celebration, Czech people eat roast goose combined with the young wines from the year's grape harvest (St. Martin's Wine). Held on the river embankment in Prague, St. Martin's Wine Festival celebrates this tradition: market stalls sell wines by the glass and bottle; a variety of food is on offer; and there is an accompanying musical programme.

Public Holiday. Commemorates the student demonstration against Nazi occupation in 1939, and more famously the mass demonstration that started the Velvet Revolution in 1989.
