PERFORMANCE DETAILS Galaxia is a popular black light show produced by the highly inventive team at the Image Theatre in Prague. Galaxia is an amusing story about how human relationships can be affected by the position of the stars and by horoscopes compiled by astrologers. The night sky appears full of stars which never alter, but in reality it is an ever-changing canvas of emerging and disappearing stars, galaxies, mysterious nebulae and black holes. This backdrop, and the ancient desire of people to connect their destinies to the movements of the heavenly bodies, inspired the Image Theatre to create Galaxia. The cold beauty of the infinite universe, dark yet full of colours and moving objects, seems a natural setting for black light theatre, where all normal boundaries are blurred, settling somewhere between the real and the impossible. In Galaxia, pure science has been exchanged for theatre poetics, and computer systems for dancing, music and black theatre effects. The audience is invited to travel in space and time to an unspecified past, into places where you can almost touch the stars. In black light theatre, the story unfolds visually with little or no spoken dialogue. This makes the shows ideal for international audiences, including both adults and children.
