Chagall's is set in the heart of the Old Town in Prague. This is a contemporary restaurant with plenty of style and sophistication, serving a first–class international menu at reasonable prices.
Chagall's is that ideal combination of a fine historic building fused with modern furniture and design techniques. High ceilings and a light interior give the restaurant a welcoming, airy feel.
Its menu is inspired by the best of European cuisine, resulting in innovative, high quality food created from fresh seasonal ingredients (this emphasis on using the best of what is available can mean special dishes are available on the day which do not appear in the menu we list).
Czech chef Petr Hajny experiments with food, normally with great success, but he also cooks standard dishes well. Steaks are succulent, seasoned and cooked to perfection, carrots and shallots are served soft and yet crunchy, the mashed potatoes are creamy and buttery. And the sauces are rich with wine and peppery sweetness, often with the scent of mushrooms or truffles.
Chagall's has nice fresh fish on the menu too, brought in daily. There are fine duck and beef dishes, and the pasta is amongst the freshest in Prague.
Finally, to take the menu decision out of your hands, opt for the Degustation Menu which includes many of the chef's finest dishes.
To accompany the food Chagall's stocks a range of Czech and International wines, including moderately priced local bottles.
The background music is upbeat and adds to the contemporary feel of the restaurant, but is kept low to ensure guests of all ages enjoy their visit.
In the warmer months Chagall's also has tables outside for some fine al-fresco dining and to watch the world go by.
The chef has won culinary awards at home and abroad. So for fine original cuisine at an affordable price, Chagall's is truly worth a visit. And is just three minutes walk from the Old Town Square.
