Map of Laterna Magika Theatre in Prague Book Theatre
Laterna magika in Prague offers a uniquely Czech theatre experience. Their shows are a dazzling mix of film, visual effects and ballet, with colourfully dressed mime artists adding an emotional edge to performances.

The Laterna magika shows are a form of black light theatre, and they continue to push the boundaries of this ever-evolving art form. Talented actors and technicians ensure each production brings with it new themes and ideas.

The theatre building is a huge, impressive glass structure located next to the National Theatre. It is an icon of the communist era, designed at the time to portray a sense of power.

Because of this, Laterna magika is a Czech cultural monument. It is known throughout the country, and many Czechs will bring their families to Prague to watch a show at least once in their lives. This ensures the shows are attended by a mixed audience of Czech people and tourists.

As stories are told visually, with little or no spoken words, the shows are perfect for an international audience of both adults and children (ideally 10 years and over).

Laterna magika theatre is located 5 minutes walk from Wenceslas Square and 10 minutes from the Old Town Square and Charles Bridge.
