PERFORMANCE DETAILS
St. Nicholas Church at Old Town Square is one of the foremost venues in Prague for classical music concerts. Its prime location on Old Town Square, together with its soaring dome and striking frescoes, creates a true sense of occasion.
The concert is performed by the Vivaldi Orchestra Praga, an ensemble of talented musicians who specialise in early music and play on authentic period instruments. Musicians appearing at St. Nicholas also perform with the National Theatre, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and the Czech Philharmonic.
The concert opens with 'The Four Seasons'. Vivaldi's music was popular in Prague during the composer's lifetime. Between 1726–1736, six of his operas, including two premieres, were performed in the city.
