Antonin Dvorak and Trains - Exhibition

Dvorak, the Czech composer, said "I would give all my symphonies for inventing the locomotive". This small exhibition presents the development of railway in the Czech lands through the eyes of Dvorak, and includes his manuscript of Humoresque, which is reminiscent of the rhythm of a train.

St Mathew's Fair
St Mathew's Fair
Date: 01 March 2015 - 21 April 2015. Time: Tue-Fri 14:00-21:00; Sat-Sun & Holidays 10:00-22:00.
The oldest reference to the St. Mathew's fair dates from the 16th century. It is one of the most popular fairs in the Czech Republic, with 120 rides and attractions to enjoy, from swing carousels to bumper cars and shooting galleries.

Travel: Tram stop Vystaviste.

Municipal House
Vital Art Nouveau 1900 - Exhibition
Date: 01 March 2015 - 31 December 2015. Time: Daily 10:00-19:00.
Price: 150czk
Municipal House is a fitting setting for an exhibition of 19th-20th century Czech and European Art Nouveau works. 400 items are on display, including works exhibited at the Paris World’s Fair of 1900. Buy tickets at Municipal House on the day of your visit.

The Best of Czech Press Photos

This exhibition shows the best Czech press photos from the past 20 years. The photos depict the major news stories and the development of the country over the period.

Febiofest is an international film festival screening the best of the past year's cinema releases. The festival focuses on feature-length films, but short, documentary, experimental and animated movies also form part of the mix. Febiofest screenings are mostly at a modern 12-screen multiplex cinema just outside the city centre, at Cinestar Andel.

Easter Markets 2015
Easter Markets 2015
Date: 21 March 2015 - 12 April 2015
The Prague Easter Markets take place at the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square. Wooden huts display local handicrafts and all manner of food and drink. Stalls present wooden toys, intricate glassware, candles, jewellery, metalware, embroidered lace, puppets, dolls in traditional costume and brightly coloured hand-painted Easter eggs. To taste, there are hot sausages and large hams on spits, and delicious local pastries, plus hot wine and ice-cold Czech beer to quench your thirst. Markets are open daily.

Prague Half Marathon

The Prague Half Marathon winds its way through Prague's city centre, through the historic areas on both banks of the Vltava River, and across Charles Bridge. This is one of the fastest marathon courses on the IAAF circuit.
Where: Starts (12:00) & Finishes (time limit 15:00) in front of Rudolfinum.

Prague Opera
Prague Opera, Ballet & Classical Concert listings & tickets
Dates: March 2015
Prague is famous for opera, ballet and classical concerts. Performances take place in three magnificent opera houses, in stunning concert halls and in an array of beautiful historic churches. Tickets are reasonably priced, so shows often sell out. Advance reservations are therefore highly recommended.

Prague Theatre

Visit the Prague theatre for a typically Czech experience.
Black light theatre is a highly charged mix of dynamic dance, mime, singers, film, and state-of-the-art visual and sound effects. And marionette theatre features giant puppets. Shows are highly visual to appeal to adults and children of all ages and nationalities. Advance reservations are highly recommended.
