Prague Grand City Sightseeing Tour & Boat Trip

This version of the 'Grand City' tour includes a relaxing cruise along the river, so involves less walking.

Of all our Prague tours, the Prague Grand City Sightseeing Tour is our most popular, a superb introduction to this city of rich opulent beauty, with an epic history.

This sightseeing tour is part by air-conditioned coach, part on foot (some of the finest parts of the city are only accessible on foot).

After picking you up from your Prague hotel, we embark on a fascinating journey through time, to discover the people who have shaped the city, and learn about the places they built - Prague has over 4,000 monuments.

We begin on the coach, introducing the major historical areas of Prague: the New Town with Wenceslas Square at its heart, the charming Old Town and the picturesque Lesser Town.

Next, we drive up to the castle for the highlight of the trip: a 75 minute walk through the Prague Castle complex to discover the major sights within. Our guide brings the magnificent castle buildings to life by explaining their often turbulent history, and their royal and presidential connections.

We admire the grandeur of Saint Vitus Cathedral, the ancient architecture of the Old Royal Palace, and enjoy stunning views over the whole of Prague.

From Prague Castle we walk down towards the river via some stone steps, to take a short boat trip through the city centre. On board we enjoy close up views of the waterside attractions and sail under Charles Bridge.

The boat provides an opportunity to relax, with a coffee or a beer from the bar. The boat has heated indoor seating for the winter and outdoor seating for the summer, so is comfortable all year round.

Back on dry land, we continue our Prague tour with a walk through the Jewish Quarter (Josefov), before arriving at the Old Town Square. En-route, we learn the origins of one of the best preserved medieval cities in the world.

The tour finishes at a convenient point in the city centre, near the Old Town Square. Highly recommended.

Tip: The boat trip only sails through the centre of Prague, whereas our regular river cruises travel further, and some include food and live music. Therefore, if you wish to book this tour and for example a dinner river cruise, you will enjoy both, as they offer different experiences.
