Staromácek is an old traditional Czech restaurant located just off the
Old Town Square, in the heart of Prague.
Staromácek is fairly basic, but boasts a pleasant, typical Czech atmosphere. Their speciality is traditional Bohemian cuisine, including goulash, pork, venison, sausage and trout. They also stretch to steak and other International dishes, although our advice is to opt for the Czech cuisine, which the chef is much better with.
Waiters dress in traditional costume, and Staromácek really comes into its own after dark, when the lights are dimmed and an array of candles is lit around the restaurant.
The drinks menu includes a selection of Moravian wines and wonderful fresh, cold Pilsner beer.
For typical Czech cuisine and service, Staromacek is fine. The ambience is nice and in its price range by the Old Town Square, it presents good value for money. As always in Prague, check the bill thoroughly at the end of the meal.

Staromácek Restaurant is suitable for groups of all ages. A live accordion player can be arranged on request. Advance reservations are essential.
