Gabriele Ristorante in Prague is set in a beautifully restored Gothic cellar, in the heart of the Old Town. As you descend the stone steps into the restaurant, guests are presented with arguably the most impressive setting of any eatery in Prague - an evening spent here is not to be rushed. Gabriele Ristorante (formerly Flambee), was renovated and reopened in 2010 by Gabriele Feliciani, who is also head chef. The chef hails from the Italian region of Abruzzo, and having worked in French and Italian Michelin starred restaurants over many years, he offers diners a true taste of the Italian gastronomic culture. Gabriele's dishes are highly creative, with a far greater range of flavours than in regular Italian restaurants outside Italy. Menu choices range from fresh fish and seafood to succulent beef steaks and lamb chops. There are also some delightful pasta dishes and mouth-watering desserts - as only a master of Italian and French cuisine can prepare. The menu is small, to ensure each dish is fresh, and presented with great attention to detail. The wine list offers some fine Italian and French bottles, along with good wines from other regions. The Gabriele restaurant building has a strong historical background. The dining area dates from the 11th century, and the wine cellar as far back as the 8th century. It is located around 5 minutes walk from Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square and Charles Bridge. There is live piano on Friday and Saturday evenings. Gabriele Ristorante presents authentic Italian cuisine in unique surroundings, and is suitable for a variety of occasions. It is naturally a very romantic restaurant, but it can be equally impressive for business dining. |
