A full day sightseeing tour to the beautiful medieval town of Cesky Krumlov, located in the south of the Czech Republic and registered on the UNESCO world heritage list.
After picking you up from your Prague accommodation we drive for around 2 1/2 hours through the scenic Bohemian countryside, to reach Cesky Krumlov.
This is our furthest one day trip, but well worth a visit. Cesky Krumlov is one of the most attractive places in the Czech Republic after Prague.
We begin our tour with a visit to the main attraction, the mighty renaissance castle, once the seat of powerful lords, the Rožmberks and the Schwarzenbergs. The castle houses a rich collection of period furniture, Flemish tapestries and historical weapons.
A good lunch in a medieval tavern is included in the tour, after which we take a stroll through the city's quaint streets, lined with gothic, renaissance and baroque houses. These once belonged to powerful noblemen.
There are plenty of cafes and small shops to discover in Cesky Krumlov, plus a lovely, winding river to stroll by. Before we head home, there is some free time to explore them.
The Cesky Krumlov (UNESCO) Sightseeing Tour is a good introduction to this beautiful town. For a longer visit, we recommend our: Cesky Krumlov (UNESCO) 2 Day Sightseeing Tour
