Chapeau Rouge is a good party bar located just off the
Old Town Square, popular with both local Czechs and the International crowd.
Chapeau Rouge's interior is decorated a dark red colour, resembling an old-fashioned pub. It certainly has that well worn feel about. And being somewhat of an institution in post-communism bars, a visit here reminds you of the type of bars Prague spawned in the early 90's, before the gentrification of bars in the new millennium.
Chapeau Rouge has music playing the whole day. Come to soak up the atmosphere, and have a drink and a smoke with friends.
If you make it safely down the precariously positioned stairs, you will find the psychedelic feel continues into the club downstairs.
Drinks on offer include the dangerous mixture of Absinthe and Red Bull, as well as a selection of cocktails and reasonably-priced Czech beer.
The crowd tends to be a mix of ages and nationalities, which gives Chateau a lively atmosphere throughout the evening. Start your night off there, come on your pub crawl, or take advantage of the late closing time and finish off there.

Ideal for stag parties and other groups on a tour around town.
