This tour explores Prague's premier tourist attraction,
Prague Castle, and takes in the beautiful
Lesser Town (Malá Strana) side of the city, which nestles around the foothills of the castle.
After meeting your guide in the Old Town, we start the tour with a short coach transfer up to Prague Castle (the highest point in Prague).
Prague Castle is the largest medieval castle complex in Europe. As we begin our walk through the grounds, we visit its most impressive building, St. Vitus Cathedral. This magnificent structure (see the picture on the left) was the coronation and burial place of the once mighty Czech kings.
To many people St. Vitus Cathedral is the very symbol of Prague Castle, however the complex covers much more. It incorporates fine palaces, ancient churches, viewing towers and other fine buildings. Our tour therefore continues on, to discover the most important buildings, to learn their history and of the roles they perform today.
Before we leave the castle, you can experience a spectacular panoramic view over the whole of Prague.
We then descend through the picturesque Lesser Town (Malá Strana), walking down the "Royal Way" Nerudova Street to reach one of Europe’s oldest stone bridges, Charles Bridge, where our tour ends.
Prague Experience walking tours are in English and are led by professional, licensed tourist guides.
