On New Year's Eve, enjoy the most authentic medieval banquet in Prague. Set in a historical building dating from 1402 in the Old Town, this all-inclusive night features hearty food, unlimited drinks, and dramatic live entertainment and music.
Entry is by ticket, which must be purchased in advance via the book button on this page.
As you enter the Medieval Tavern, the sights and smells transport you back in time to the Middle Ages. Guests are seated at dark wooden tables lit by candlelight. Above you, thick ropes hang from gnarled beams and vaulted stone ceilings. Around the room, the hustle and bustle of scrumptious serving wenches and strapping tavern lads fills the air, as platters of roasted meats and flagons of ale are delivered to tables with hearty cheer.
An extensive historical show unfolds all around, with entertainers dressed in authentic medieval costumes moving through the restaurant as they perform. Expect swordsmen, jugglers, fire breathers, and beautiful dancers. Medieval musicians stroll among the guests, playing a variety of instruments. And a fortune-teller may reveal your destiny. But beware the executioner!
A generous 'All You Can Eat' Medieval Feast is served throughout the evening. The cooking is first-class and features both medieval and traditional Czech dishes, including roasted duck, chicken and pork, grilled sausages, Prague ham, chicken wings, pancakes, cheese, and homemade cakes. Waiters continuously circulate the restaurant carrying platters of food, allowing guests to choose whatever they wish, whenever they wish.
Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes are available to order on the night. There are plenty of options, such as risotto, pasta, cheese gnocchi, grilled vegetables, salad, pancakes, nuts and more. (If you require Vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free food, please state this in Special Requests on the booking form. Your waiter will then discuss your food choices with you on the night).
Unlimited Czech beer, wine, and soft drinks are included. Food and drinks are always plentiful at the Medieval Tavern!
At Midnight: Toast in the New Year at the Medieval Tavern with your complimentary bottle of Bohemia Sekt 'Czech Champagne'. Alternatively, it's just 3 minutes walk to Old Town Square and 6 minutes to the River, where there are fireworks.
The ancient Medieval Tavern building has been expertly restored. It has a highly authentic feel, but gives a welcome nod to 21st-century comforts and hygiene, ensuring a fine experience for guests of all ages.
The New Year's Eve Medieval Banquet always sells out, so advance reservations are essential.
