MaSa Restaurant is on a quiet square in the Old Town
in Prague. It is a warm, contemporary restaurant with a stylish simplicity; its bold red seating and clever use of glass and ambient lighting blend well with the historic nature of the building.
The Michelin starred head chef, Hervé Rodriguéz, offers modern fine dining based around his native French cuisine, with influences of Asian and Eastern European cooking.
He has been bold with his approach, creating innovative, delightfully tasty food using his own mix of ingredients.
Daily specials are a feature of the restaurant, to reflect the changing seasons, therefore not all dishes are published in advance. This ensures every dish is fresh and bursting with flavour. Food ranges from delicious beef to fresh fish; from pan fried North Sea scallops and lobster, to sea bass and Atlantic cod.
Starters range from crab and sea bream salads to foie gras, whilst the most popular dessert is probably the 'Chocolat Grand Cru'!
For a gastronomic experience try the Surprise Tasting Menu, which changes frequently, and is a mix of some of the chef's finest dishes. This menu has optional wine pairing too, to ensure every course comes with a matching wine.
MaSa stocks high quality Czech and International wines to suit all budgets, and the sommelier will happily offer advice on choosing a wine to accompany your meal.
The service at MaSa Restaurant is thorough, but not too formal, with a friendliness you tend to find in Prague in more recently opened restaurants, which this is.
The background music adds to the contemporary feel, but is kept low to ensure guests of all ages enjoy their visit.
MaSa is located just three minutes walk from both the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square. It is just off the main pedestrian routes, so prices are very reasonable for this standard of restaurant in the city centre. It is somewhat of a hidden gem, something we at Prague Experience like to seek out.
With its fine balance of atmosphere, service and original cuisine, MaSa is challenging the more established restaurants.
Ideal for a romantic dinner, but equally for other leisure and business occasions.
TIP: Book a table through Prague Experience and receive a free welcome drink: Glass of Bortolomiol Prosecco.
