A full day trip from Prague to the beautiful medieval town of Cesky Krumlov.
Located in the south of the Czech Republic, Cesky Krumlov is protected as a UNESCO world heritage site. It is one of the country's most attractive places to visit after Prague. This excursion is part by air-conditioned coach, part on foot. After picking you up from your Prague hotel, we drive for around 2˝ hours through the scenic Bohemian countryside to reach Cesky Krumlov. We begin our guided walking tour with a stroll through the formal gardens and courtyards of Cesky Krumlov Castle, once the seat of powerful lords, the Romberks and Schwarzenbergs. We then walk down to discover the town's historic centre; the quaint old streets are lined with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque houses once belonging to wealthy noblemen. Next, there is a couple of hours free time for you to browse the charming small shops, enjoy a stroll by the winding river, and choose a café or restaurant for lunch (lunch is not included in the price of the tour).
After meeting up again, we embark on a guided visit of the main attraction, the mighty Gothic and Renaissance Cesky Krumlov Castle. This magnificent building dates from the 13th century and houses a rich collection of paintings, period furniture, Flemish tapestries, historical weapons, and intricate china, glassware and jewellery.
After visiting the castle, we commence the journey back to Prague.
Prague Experience sightseeing tours are in English and another language. They are led by professional licensed tourist guides and use modern, air-conditioned mini-coaches. If you require a tour in German, please state it on the booking form. The trip finishes back in Prague, near Wenceslas Square. Note: in winter, we offer a different version of this trip - Cesky Krumlov Winter Sightseeing Tour. |
