A full day sightseeing trip from Prague to visit Cesky Krumlov, a beautiful medieval town and UNESCO world heritage site in the south of Czechia. Cesky Krumlov is one of the country's most attractive places to visit outside Prague. This sightseeing tour is part by air-conditioned bus, part on foot. After meeting your guide near Wenceslas Square in Prague, we board the bus for the trip to Cesky Krumlov. The journey takes around 2˝ hours and passes through the scenic Bohemian countryside. The guided walking tour of Cesky Krumlov begins with a stroll through the courtyards and gardens of the mighty 13th century Cesky Krumlov Castle. Once the seat of powerful overlords, the Gothic and Renaissance masterpiece is the second largest castle fortress in Czechia.
Next, we descend into the town's historical centre to explore the quaint streets lined with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque buildings from the times of the Romberk, Lobkowicz and Schwarzenberg noble families.
There is then some free time for you to discover more of the town. Visit the charming boutique shops, take a stroll by the winding river, revisit the castle to explore its interiors, or have lunch at one of the quaint cafés or restaurants (lunch is not included in the tour).
If you decide to return to the castle, you will find it houses a rich collection of paintings, period furniture, Flemish tapestries, historical weapons, and intricate china, glassware and jewellery.
Late afternoon, we commence the journey back to Prague.
Prague Experience sightseeing tours are in English and another language. They are led by licensed tourist guides and use modern, air-conditioned buses. If you require a tour in German, Italian or Spanish, state it in Special Requests on the booking form. The trip finishes back in Prague, near Wenceslas Square. |
