A full day sightseeing trip from Prague to the beautiful medieval town of Cesky Krumlov.
Located in the south of the Czech Republic, Cesky Krumlov is a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the country's most attractive places to visit after Prague. This sightseeing tour is part by air-conditioned coach, part on foot. After meeting you in the city centre, near Wenceslas Square, we board the coach for the journey to Cesky Krumlov, which takes around 2˝ hours and passes through the scenic Bohemian countryside. We begin our guided walking tour of Cesky Krumlov with a stroll through the courtyards and formal gardens of the mighty 13th century Cesky Krumlov Castle. Once the seat of powerful overlords, the Gothic and Renaissance masterpiece is the second largest castle fortress in the Czech Republic.
Next, we explore the town's historic centre. The quaint streets are lined with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque buildings from the times of the Romberk, Lobkowicz and Schwarzenberg noble families.
After the tour there is free time for you to explore the town further: visit the boutique shops, take a stroll by the winding river, revisit the castle to explore its interiors, or enjoy lunch in one of the many charming cafés (lunch is not included in the tour).
If you decide to return to the castle, you will find it houses a rich collection of paintings, period furniture, Flemish tapestries, historical weapons, and intricate china, glassware and jewellery.
Late afternoon, we commence the journey back to Prague.
Prague Experience sightseeing tours are in English and another language. They are led by professional, licensed tourist guides and use modern, air-conditioned mini-coaches. If you require a tour in German, Italian or Spanish, state it in Special Requests on the booking form. The trip finishes back in Prague, near Wenceslas Square. |
