Nebozizek Restaurant is set in parkland on the side of Petrin Hill, a little below Petrin Tower. Take the Funicular Railway up to the restaurant to be rewarded with stunning views over the city, and an eye-level view across to Prague Castle. The location is particularly nice as dusk descends into night, with the whole of Prague below lighting up before you. Nebozizek Restaurant is effectively a glass conservatory. In the winter it is snug and warm inside, in the summer it is a cool, light and airy. There is also a large summer terrace in front of the restaurant. Nebozizek offers a fine selection of Czech and International fare. Food is well prepared and presented, and will appeal to most palates; given the superb location of the restaurant, it is also very reasonably priced. There is an ample selection of wines to match the food, to suit all budgets, including several Czech wines. Live piano adds to the charm; the pianist plays most nights, depending on the amount of people in the restaurant. Nebozizek makes for a fine excursion at any time of the year. On fine weather days, enjoy the sun setting over the red rooftops of Prague. In the winter, you may be lucky and look out at a snow covered city while safely cocooned in the warmth of the restaurant. Nebozizek is accessible via the Funicular, by taxi, and on foot; the 20-minute walk up Petrin Hill is reasonably steep, but it is very pleasant, passing through gardens and an apple orchard. On the return, take the funicular or a taxi. Or for a perfect end to the evening, walk down Petrin Hill into the Lesser Town, and stroll across Charles Bridge. Make the effort to travel up to Nebozizek, and for a few hours at least, you will have Prague at your feet. |
