| Founded in 1993, the Globe Bookstore was Prague’s first English language bookstore. Over time it has expanded its offering to include French, German and Czech language publications. Globe stocks around 10,000 hand-picked books spanning a range of subjects, as well as international newspapers and magazines. The store stocks both new and used books. The key to a good bookshop is not quantity, but diversity. Whether you're seeking the escape of fiction or the truth in non-fiction, the Globe Bookstore has a book for everyone. So seat yourself in an over-stuffed armchair and take the time to peruse the literature on offer. Globe attracts both ex-pats living in the city as well as tourists popping in to find a casual read to pass the time. Globe also has a popular café, which provides a meeting place for artists, writers, students and travellers. As well as serving good coffee, visitors can order beers, cocktails and food.
