This exhibition, held in the Gaming Parlours at Municipal House, celebrates the fashion designer Blanka Matragi's work. Dresses and accessories are the core exhibits, supplemented by sculptures, chandeliers, glass and porcelain objects, and art.

Rembrandt - Portrait of a Man

To mark the 350th anniversary of the death of the Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn, the National Gallery in Prague is hosting an exhibition of his work. His portrait Scholar In His Study is the focal point of the exhibition. Other works have been loaned by major museums and galleries, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten in Antwerp, the National Gallery in London and the Albertina in Vienna.

Designblok 2020 - Prague International Design Festival

Designblok is the largest design and fashion show in Central Europe. It showcases the work of designers and manufacturers from all over Europe, including designs from new and established brands and design studios.

The Chainsmokers - Concert

Prices: Free entry. No advance booking, head for your chosen venue and join the queue.
On this one night of the year, most museums in Prague open their doors for free, offering visitors a unique night-time view of their exhibits. Prague Museum Night is a collaboration between the National Museum, the Prague Public Transit Company and the Association of Museums and Galleries of the Czech Republic.

The Prague Marathon has one of the most beautiful courses in the world. The race winds through the historic city centre, over bridges and along the Vltava River. The race is on the Sunday, but the build up starts on Saturday with a weekend of activities, including relay and corporate team marathons.

SIGNAL Light Festival
SIGNAL Light Festival
Dates: 15 October 2020 - 18 October 2020
The SIGNAL Festival is an open-air celebration of light. Some of Prague's famous buildings are bathed in an array of colours, as the best in modern technology is employed to illuminate the buildings using fixed lighting or video projections. To enjoy the shows simply stroll around the Old Town and by the river at night-time.

iMucha - Alphonse Mucha - Visual Experience

This unique multimedia show celebrates the work of the famous Czech painter and designer, Alfons Mucha. 160 years after he was born, iMucha presents the great man's posters, the Slav Epic and unknown works in motion, in sophisticated animations.

Fringe is the biggest English speaking theatre festival in the Czech Republic. Theatre, comedy, music and dance are staged at several small theatres in the Lesser Town.

The Norwegian pop group, a-ha, play Prague for the first time. The band is on their European tour to celebrate 35 years since the release of their most popular album 'Hunting High and Low', which included their hit 'Take On Me'.

Independent Czechoslovak State Day - Public Holiday
Dates: 28 October 2020
Public holiday. 'Independent Czechoslovak State Day' marks the most important date in the country's history. It commemorates the creation of Czechoslovakia in 1918, following the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Prague sightseeing and entertainment operate as normal. Shops have limited opening times.

The annual Prague Microfestival is an English/Czech festival of the arts, which combines contemporary writing, art, film and performance. The festival boasts 24 writers from 12 different countries, including an art gallery, microlab and microshow with experimental and avant-garde music and performance.

Prague is famous for its opera, ballet and classical concerts. Performances are held in magnificent opera houses, stunning concert halls, and in an array of churches and other historic buildings. Tickets are reasonably priced, so shows often sell out. Advance reservations are therefore highly recommended.
