This tour is a guided walking tour of the Prague Castle complex and into the Lesser Town (Malá Strana), a beautiful area which nestles around the foothills of the castle. After meeting your guide in the Old Town, we start the tour with air-conditioned bus transport up to Prague Castle. This is the largest ancient castle complex in the world and occupies the highest point in the city. As we begin our walking tour of Prague Castle, we visit its most impressive building, St. Vitus Cathedral. This magnificent structure (pictured on the left) was the coronation and burial place of the once mighty Kings of Bohemia. At first glance St. Vitus Cathedral would appear to be Prague Castle, but the complex includes much more. It incorporates palaces, ancient churches, magnificent squares, viewing towers and other fine buildings. Our guide explains the layout and the history of the most important buildings as we walk through the castle complex. There are also spectacular panoramic views over Prague to enjoy. Next, we descend through the picturesque Lesser Town, walking down the "Royal Way", Nerudova street, to reach one of Europe’s oldest stone bridges, Charles Bridge, where the tour ends. -----------------------------------------------Prague Experience walking tours are in English and are led by licensed tourist guides. -----------------------------------------------Note: Prague tours that cover the whole city include a visit to Prague Castle: Prague Explorer Tour + Boat Trip. |
