Witches' Night Parade (Paleni Carodejnic)
Dates: 30 April 2022 Times: 19:00 | | An ancient folk festival, Witches' Night is a cross between Halloween and May Day, and marks the end of winter and the start of spring. An effigy of a witch, said to resemble winter (or perhaps a historical reference to witch-hunting) is burnt on pyres on hill tops across the country. In Prague, there is usually a lantern parade starting at 7pm at the Lesser Town Square, proceeding on to Kampa Park for a witches burning around 8pm. | |
