| Liberation Day - Public Holiday | |

Public Holiday. Celebrates the end of World War II. Although Soviet tanks rolled in to liberate Czechia a day later than elsewhere, on the 9th May 1945, VE Day is celebrated on the 8th May in line with other former Communist countries 'liberated' by the Russians.
