The Evolution of Plants exhibition is held in the Fata Morgana Greenhouse at the Prague Botanical Garden. This tropical greenhouse offers visitors the unique experience of stepping into a jungle within the city. It showcases a wide variety of plant species, including several endangered ones, and is also home to chameleons, frogs, fish, and tropical butterflies.

Saints Cyril & Methodius Day - Public Holiday

Public Holiday. Saints Cyril and Methodius were Byzantine Greek brothers born in Thessalonica in the 9th century. They became missionaries of Christianity among the Slavic people, and through their work influenced the cultural development of all Slavs. The day commemorates the creation of the Slavic Glagolitic and Cyrillic alphabets as well as the introduction of literacy and the preaching of the gospels in the Slavonic language.

The annual international meeting of folk groups in Prague runs over four days on open-air stages in the city centre. Amateur folk groups travel from many countries to present their own style of folklore. On Saturday afternoon there is a parade through the Old Town.

Františka Plamínková was a pioneer of women’s rights, a teacher, politician, and a fighter against Nazism. This exhibition explores the life and values of one of the most remarkable figures of modern Czech history. It includes personal photographs and artifacts, letters, including a famous one sent to Adolf Hitler, and a library of over 700 volumes with notes that reveal how she thought and what shaped her.
