Held on the river embankment in Prague, St. Martin's Day Wine Festival celebrates this tradition: buy wine by the glass or bottle and various foods, plus enjoy an accompanying musical programme. | |

St. Martin himself, dressed as a Roman soldier, leads a procession across Charles Bridge (from Lesser Town to Old Town) on the morning of 11 November, reaching the 11th pillar of Charles Bridge at precisely 11:11. St. Martin's horse-drawn carriage is filled with snow, and he is accompanied by a hundred Roman soldiers. br>At Křížovnické Square, in front of St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Martin hands the first snowfall over to the mayor of Prague. The event includes a medieval market featuring St. Martin's Day specialties (goose, wine, etc.) | |
