In August 2002, floods hit Prague. A huge surge of water caused 30 billion crowns of damage. This photographic exhibition will stir the memories of those who witnessed the dramatic scenes, and will show the younger visitors what it looked like. Some photos are “then and now”, others capture the rescue efforts for evacuated residents and animals, including the animals from Prague Zoo. | |

The Vinohrady Wine Festival is held annually at Námestí Jirího z Podebrad, a local square just outside the city centre. Inspired by the period of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, the festival is attended by winemakers from all over Central Europe, including small, independent Czech and Moravian wine merchants. There is plenty of local food to taste too, plus live music. | |

Wine Festival at Prague Castle DATES: 10 September 2022 - 11 September 2022 TIMES: 10:00-18:00 | |
Annual festival celebrating the grape harvest in the Royal Garden at Prague Castle. Part One is held in the landscaped gardens, where stalls serve food and drinks associated with harvest time, including local wines and Burcak (partially fermented young wine). There are also demonstrations of traditional crafts such as grape pressing and basket weaving, plus performances by folk singers and musicians. Entry: free. Part Two is Moravian wine tasting inside the adjacent Empire Greenhouse, where visitors can sample Czech wines at reasonable prices. Entry & tasting glass: 150 CZK. No need to book, tickets available on the day. | |
