Aloha Bar & Club Aloha is one of Prague's hidden gems. This lively basement club is tucked away in the side streets of the Old Town, yet is only 3 minutes walk from the Old Town Square - you won't easily stumble across this one, you need to seek it out.Aloha's Hawaiian theme and friendly bar staff create a warm, easy going, and upbeat atmosphere. Combined with the healthy mix of Czech and International visitors it attracts, the place simply has a buzz about it. Aloha specialises in mixing cocktails, which it serves at very reasonable prices. For straight spirits, there is an extensive range of vodka, gin, whiskey, rum, tequila, Cognac and other hard drinks. Plus, there is ice-cold Czech beer on tap, and a variety of wines, juices and energy drinks.
As with any good music bar, things liven up as the night progresses. From 7pm to 10pm, the music at Aloha provides a nice background vibe, and it's a good bar to go to for a chat with friends. Around 10pm at weekends, a DJ ramps the music up, playing a varied selection of upbeat 80s/90s/00s/10s/20s tunes.
Later on, and loaded up with a few expertly mixed Pina Coladas or other drink of choice, people tend to gravitate towards the dance floor, where the DJ keeps the party going all night. A large screen beside the dance floor plays some dramatic surfing videos early on, then switches later to videos that match the tunes being played. If dancing is not your thing, take a pew, enjoy the music and the buzz, and watch the bartenders mix their magic - it's entertaining!
Aloha Café Bar While the main bar and club is downstairs, Aloha also has a café bar at street level which is open all day, serving breakfast, light refreshments, fresh cakes and ice-creams, as well as coffee, soft drinks, and alcoholic drinks. |
