|The Prague City Tour offers a superb introduction to this city of rich, opulent beauty with an epic history.|
Join us on a fascinating journey through time to learn of the people who have shaped the city, and to discover the places they built over the past one thousand years - Prague has over 4,000 monuments.
This sightseeing tour is part by air-conditioned coach, part by boat, but mainly on foot (some of the city's finest areas are only accessible on foot).
After meeting you in the city centre, near Wenceslas Square, we begin our tour on the coach.
As we pass through the main historical areas of Prague, the guide introduces us to the city: the enchanting Old Town, the New Town with Wenceslas Square at its heart, and the picturesque Lesser Town.
We then drive up to Prague Castle for a highlight of the trip: a 75 minute guided walk through the Prague Castle complex. This includes a visit inside its grandest monument, Saint Vitus Cathedral.
Tip: One advantage of visiting the castle on a guided tour is that we will be escorted in via the shortest security queue.
As we stroll through the complex, your guide will bring the magnificent castle buildings to life, explaining their turbulent history, and their royal and presidential connections.
We admire the ancient architecture, the fortifications and towers, the historic churches, and the other national treasures.
Finally, we encourage you to take in the stunning views over the whole of Prague.
From Prague Castle, we walk down to the Vltava River via a flight of steps (there are a number of steps, but they are wide and deep, so are relatively easy to walk down).
Next, we take a boat trip through the city centre, which provides the opportunity to relax and take refreshments. The bar on board serves a range of beers, wines, sparkling wines, spirits, hot and cold soft drinks, and snacks.
The interior of the boat is air-conditioned in summer, heated in winter, and has outdoor seating too, so the trip is comfortable all year round.
We sail under Charles Bridge and enjoy close up views of the riverside attractions.
Back on dry land, the tour continues across the water through the Old Town, before heading off into the Jewish Quarter if time allows.
Prague Experience sightseeing tours are in English and another language. They are led by professional licensed tourist guides and use modern, air-conditioned mini-coaches.
If you require a tour in German, state it in Special Requests on the booking form.
The trip finishes at the Old Town Square.
Note: The order of the itinerary is subject to change in the event of traffic or adverse weather conditions.
Tip: The boat trip sails through the heart of Prague only, whereas our dinner and lunch cruises travel much further, and include a meal and live music. Therefore, if you were to book this sightseeing tour plus a dinner cruise for one evening, you will enjoy both as they offer different experiences.
