|The Prague City Tour offers a superb introduction to Prague, a city of rich, opulent beauty with an epic history.|
We embark on a fascinating journey through time, to learn of the people who have shaped the city, and to discover the places they built over the past one thousand years - Prague has over 4,000 monuments.
This sightseeing tour is part by air-conditioned bus, part by boat, and part on foot (some of the city's finest areas are pedestrianised).
After meeting your guide near Wenceslas Square, we board the bus for a tour of the vibrant New Town, where we discover the history of the square, with the mighty National Museum at its top.
We then cross the Vltava River into the picturesque Lesser Town, for a tour of the sights and attractions in this enchanting area of the city.
Next, we drive up to Prague Castle for the highlight of the trip: a 75 minute walking tour of the Prague Castle complex. This includes a visit inside its greatest monument, Saint Vitus Cathedral.
Tip: One advantage of a guided tour is that you enter Prague Castle via the shortest security queue.
Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle complex in the world, and as we explore it the guide brings the magnificent squares and castle buildings to life, explaining their turbulent history, and their royal and presidential connections.
We admire the ancient architecture, the fortifications and towers, historic churches, and other national treasures.
And because Prague Castle sits on a hill, we encourage you to take in the stunning views over the city.
From Prague Castle, we walk down through the Lesser Town to Charles Bridge. Then, we board the bus once more to drive over to the Old Town.
As we journey through the cobbled streets, we immerse ourselves in this ancient world, and learn of the events, traditions and legends tied to this wonderful part of Prague.
Next, we visit the Jewish Quarter, once the Jewish Ghetto, and see the old synagogues,
before we board our river cruise.
The one-hour boat trip provides an opportunity to relax and take refreshments, as we sail under Charles Bridge and enjoy close up views of the city's riverside attractions.
The interior of the boat is air-conditioned in summer, heated in winter, and has outdoor seating too. So the trip is comfortable all year round.
The bar on board serves a range of beers, wines, sparkling wines, spirits, hot and cold soft drinks, and snacks.
Prague Experience sightseeing tours are in English and another language. They are led by professional, licensed tourist guides and use modern, air-conditioned buses.
If you require a tour in German, Italian or Spanish, state it in Special Requests on the booking form.
The tour finishes at the river embankment, in the Old Town.
Note: The order of the itinerary is subject to change in the event of adverse driving conditions.
Tip: The boat trip sails around the centre of the city only, whereas our lunch and dinner cruises travel much further, and include a meal and live music. So if you wish to book this tour as well as a cruise you will enjoy both, as they offer different experiences.
