|This excursion combines the Prague City Tour with a boat trip around Charles Bridge.|
The Prague City Tour offers a superb introduction to Prague, a place of rich, opulent beauty with an epic history.
We embark on a fascinating journey through time, to learn of the people who have shaped the city, and to discover the places they built over the past one thousand years - Prague has over 4,000 monuments.
This sightseeing tour is part by air-conditioned coach, part by boat and part on foot (some of the city's finest areas are pedestrianised).
After meeting your guide near Wenceslas Square, we board the coach for a tour of the main historical areas.
Learn about the origins of Prague, as we visit the enchanting Old Town and picturesque Lesser Town. And discover the history of Wenceslas Square, with the mighty National Museum at its top.
Next, we drive up to Prague Castle for the highlight of the trip: a 75 minute walking tour of the Prague Castle complex. This includes a visit inside its greatest monument, Saint Vitus Cathedral.
Tip: One advantage of a guided tour is that we will be escorted into the castle via the shortest security queue.
Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle complex in the world, and as we explore it the guide brings the magnificent squares and castle buildings to life, explaining their turbulent history, and their royal and presidential connections.
We admire the ancient architecture, the fortifications and towers, historic churches, and other national treasures.
And because Prague Castle sits on a hill, we encourage you to take in the stunning views over the city.
From Prague Castle, we walk down through the Lesser Town to board a river cruise.
The boat trip provides an opportunity to relax and take refreshments, as we sail under Charles Bridge and enjoy close up views of the city's riverside attractions.
The interior of the boat is air-conditioned in summer, heated in winter, and has outdoor seating too. So the trip is comfortable all year round.
The bar on board serves a range of beers, wines, sparkling wines, spirits, hot and cold soft drinks, and snacks.
Back on dry land the
tour continues, exploring further parts of the Old Town. And if time allows, we visit the Jewish Quarter.
Prague Experience sightseeing tours are in English and another language. They are led by professional, licensed tourist guides and use modern, air-conditioned mini-coaches.
If you require a tour in German, Italian or Spanish, state it in Special Requests on the booking form.
The tour finishes at the Old Town Square.
Note: The order of the itinerary is subject to change in the event of adverse driving conditions.
Tip: The boat trip sails around the centre of the city only, whereas our lunch and dinner cruises travel much further, and include a meal and live music. So if you wish to book this tour as well as a cruise you will enjoy both, as they offer different experiences.
Note: We offer a version of this tour without a boat trip: Prague City Tour.
