The Prague City Tour offers a superb introduction to Prague, a place of rich, opulent beauty with an epic history.

We embark on a fascinating journey through time, to learn of the people who have shaped the city, and to discover the places they built over the past one thousand years - Prague has over 4,000 monuments.

This sightseeing tour is part by air-conditioned coach, part by boat, but mainly on foot (some of the city's finest areas are only accessible on foot).

After meeting your guide near Wenceslas Square, we begin with a coach tour of the main historical areas of the city.

Discover the enchanting Old Town, the New Town with Wenceslas Square at its heart, and the picturesque Lesser Town.

We then drive up to Prague Castle for the highlight of the trip: a 75 minute guided walking tour of the Prague Castle complex. This includes a visit inside its grandest monument, Saint Vitus Cathedral.

Tip: One advantage of visiting the castle on a guided tour is that we will be escorted in via the shortest security queue.

As we stroll through the complex, the guide brings the magnificent castle buildings to life, explaining their turbulent history, and their royal and presidential connections.

We admire the ancient architecture, the fortifications and towers, the historic churches, and other national treasures.

Before we bid farewell to Prague Castle, we encourage you to take in the stunning views over the whole city.

From Prague Castle, we walk down to the Vltava River via a flight of steps (there are a number of steps, but they are wide and deep, so are relatively easy to walk down).

We then take a boat trip through the city centre. This provides the opportunity to relax and take refreshments, as we sail under Charles Bridge and enjoy close up views of the riverside attractions.

The interior of the boat is air-conditioned in summer, heated in winter, and has outdoor seating too, so the trip is comfortable all year round.

The bar on board serves a range of beers, wines, sparkling wines, spirits, hot and cold soft drinks, and snacks.

Back on dry land, the walking tour continues on through the Old Town. If times allows, we will also visit the Jewish Quarter.

Prague Experience sightseeing tours are in English and another language. They are led by professional licensed tourist guides and use modern, air-conditioned mini-coaches.

If you require a tour in German, state it in Special Requests on the booking form.

The trip finishes at the Old Town Square.

Note: The order of the itinerary is subject to change in the event of traffic or adverse weather conditions.

Tip: The boat trip sails through the heart of Prague only, whereas our dinner and lunch river cruises travel much further, and include a delicious meal and live music. Therefore, if you wish to book this sightseeing tour plus a dinner cruise for one evening, you will enjoy both as they offer different experiences.
